Based on my healing and other trauma survivors, the following are suggestions for continuing self-care. These suggestions may work for you, and may not work for others. During my intense healing periods, it was so important for me to love myself where I was at and to know that the hard times will end and I will come out of the healing a much more centered, loving human being, which I am.

- Learn to distinguish beliefs from childhood carried over to the present
- Learn who is safe and who is not
- Have fun and leisure time
- Set boundaries/limits with others
- Keep a journal
- Let go of abusive friends
