Spirit possession or?

February 6, 2015

Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) once known as Multiple Personality Disorder is a “¹severe form of dissociation, a mental process which produces a lack of connection in a person’s thoughts, memories, feelings, actions, or sense of identity.” It is characterized by the presence of more than one personality. Interestingly, there are striking similarities between accounts of spirit possession and the manifestations of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). Those suffering from DID often experience detachment, loss of control and identity confusion including:

  • Detachment from self
  • Detachment from the world
  • Transient amnesia
  • Identity confusion

What if this behavior was caused by the possession of a spirit or other entity?

Read on for an interesting article on the subject.
